Calgary police warn of dangerous offender release

The Calgary Police Service (CPS) is asking people to be vigilant after the release of a dangerous offender into the community on Thursday.

CPS says 57-year-old Norman Robert Brown will be “strongly monitored” and the subject of a 10-year-long Long-Term Supervision Order following his release.

Officers say he has six previous convictions for sexual assault and one conviction for sexual interference of a minor, which occurred between 1990 and 2021.

They add, the majority of his crimes have occurred in the Calgary area and targeted vulnerable women, including women with disabilities.

Brown is described as 5’9″ tall, 221 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.
