Calgary police issue warrant for man after removing tracking bracelet

The Calgary Police Service (CPS) has issued a warrant for a man after removing his tracking bracelet and failing to appear in court.

CPS says 22-year-old Joseph Chlala was scheduled to appear in court Thursday to face sentencing in connection to the killing of Christian Navos in the southeast community of Legacy about three years ago.

Chlala is charged with manslaughter with a firearm.

Police believe he was picked up Thursday in a grey Chevrolet Impala from his home along House Common NE around 9:40 a.m.

As he removed his bracelet, police have been unable to find him.
