11-year-old struck by vehicle in Calgary NW Royal Oak

An 11-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition after being struck by a vehicle in Calgary’s northwest Monday.

Calgary police say it happened around 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Royal Oak Terrace and Royal Oak Drive.

EMS say he has been taken to Alberta Children’s Hospital.

Officers say they escorted the ambulance to hospital.

Meanwhile, police say the vehicle’s driver remained on the scene, and add impairment is not believed to be a factor.

The investigation is ongoing.
