Calgary Zoo celebrates Ape Awareness Month

April is Ape Awareness Month, and the Calgary Zoo is highlighting its unique apes, especially white-handed gibbons.
The month celebrates all things apes.
“It’s Ape Awareness Month and we’re excited to shine the spotlight on our white-handed gibbons!” the zoo tweeted.

The zoo explains the gibbons’ arms are quite long — twice the lengths of their torsos — allowing them to swing through the trees.
