Man found dead in downtown Calgary after shooting

A man in his 20s was found dead in the downtown core following an alleged shooting.

According to EMS, they responded to 6 Avenue between 8 and 10 streets around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.

EMS says the man was declared dead on scene.

Police are not saying much but put out a tweet around 11 p.m. saying all westbound traffic on 6 Avenue SW would be closed between 9 and 10 streets and is expected to remain closed for several hours.

There have also been social media reports of shots heard near the Kensington Safeway.
