Calgary police identify 2 dead in Spruce Cliff murder suicide

Calgary police have identified a man and a woman who were found dead in Spruce Cliff in an apparent murder suicide.

Officers say they received reports at around 7:15 p.m. Saturday, where bystanders found 69-year-old Joanne Suk-Wah Tse dead by a condo complex in an area near Spruce Place and Spruce Drive SW.

Investigators determined her death to be a homicide.

Soon after, police say 61-year-old De Lin Tang jumped from an upper-level balcony and was declared dead on the scene.

The identity of Tang has been released in hopes of “furthering the investigation.”

“This event was domestic in nature; however, we believe this was a new relationship, and we are still trying to determine the nature of the relationship and the events that led up to this tragic outcome. Our condolences go out to the family and friends who have been impacted,” said CPS Homicide Unit S Sgt. Sean Gregson in a statement.

Police seek the suspect’s vehicle, along with anyone who may have information about where it may be.

It is described as a white 2023 Subaru Outback, with the Alberta license plate of CN0008.

Police ask anyone with information about the movements of the two individuals or their relationship to call them at 403-266-1234 or leave a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
