Calgary police respond to shots fired call in SE

By Todd Kaufman

Calgary police were called out to reports of shots fired in the city’s southeast on Monday night.

Police say they responded just after 6:30 p.m. to the area of 26th Street and 22nd Avenue.

Not much is known at this time but witness reports indicate multiple shots were heard and then two people were spotted running from the scene and then a black SUV sped away moments later.

Police say they’re not sure if it was a return fire situation or just one person did the shooting and are now canvassing the area for CCTV footage.

More information is expected once the shell casings are analyzed.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers.
