Woman faces charges in fatal pedestrian collision: Lethbridge police

Lethbridge police say a 33-year-old woman is facing charges for a collision that killed a man and left a woman with critical injuries.
Officers responded to a crash on Jan. 17 at around 3 p.m. at 26 Avenue and 28 Street North.
Police say a 66-year-old man was declared dead by EMS.
A 62-year-old woman was taken to Chinook Regional Hospital with life-threatening injuries and later taken to Calgary by STARS helicopter. She still remains in hospital.
Investigators say a GMC truck hit the two victims when it was travelling eastbound on 26 Avenue North and then made its way onto 28 Street, striking the two as they crossed the crosswalk.
Officers say the driver stopped “immediately” and called 911.
A Lethbridge woman, 33-year-old Bobbi Raquel Whillans, is being charged with dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing bodily harm.
She is expected to appear in court on May 25.
