Man faces charges in Calgary Marlborough station stabbing: police

Calgary police charged a 46-year-old man in connection with a stabbing at the Marlborough CTrain station that happened Wednesday.

Officers received calls at around 4 a.m. for a reported stabbing at the station.

The victim was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition. Police say his condition has been upgraded to serious but stable.

After speaking with witnesses, investigators found and arrested the suspect, Massimo Civitareale.

He faces two counts of aggravated assault and failing to comply with a release order. He also has three outstanding transit-related warrants.

The suspect is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
