Calgary police try to identify body found in river

Calgary police are still looking to identify a man who was found dead in a river last summer.

Investigators initially appealed to the public last July, hoping information from tips would lead them to relatives.

They have not been successful so far and said in a Monday announcement that “all possible leads have been exhausted.”

A new sketch of the man was also released with the aim of identifying him.

Police say the man’s body was found on June 12, 2022, on the east side of the Bow River, just south of the Calf Robe Bridge.

The death was determined not to be suspicious and all “traditional methods” of identifying the person have not produced any information.

The man is believed to have been between 30 and 50 years old at the time of his death. He was 6’4” tall, weighed around 245 pounds, and had a light skin tone, according to police.

They add he was bald or had a shaved head.
