The newest member of the Calgary Zoo’s gorilla troop is a bouncing baby boy.
The zoo announced the news on Twitter Friday, adding the African Rainforest Building is now open for small groups to meet the new addition to the troop.
We have big news! Our western lowland gorilla infant is a MALE! The African Rainforest Building is now open. Small groups (20 max) will be pulsed into the building for a chance to see the wee one and our troop. Remember to use your ‘indoor’ voices & keep noise at a minimum. pic.twitter.com/Q3nhi8Z51N

Western Lowland Gorilla Yewande, 15, welcomed the baby on May 25.
It joins dad Jasiri and one-year-old half-sister Eyare, alongside three other female gorillas in the zoo’s habitat.
This newborn is the 11th of this critically endangered species to be born at the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo.
