Will the UCP seek judicial recounts in Calgary?

Despite two of its Calgary candidates losing by razor-thin margins on election night, the United Conservative Party isn’t yet saying whether it’ll seek judicial recounts in those ridings.
Elections Alberta posted the official results Thursday, confirming that Calgary-Acadia and Calgary-Glenmore were both won by the NDP.
In the former, Diana Batten unseated former UCP health minister and justice minister Tyler Shandro. In Calgary-Glenmore, Nagwan Al-Guneid replaced the UCP’s Whitney Issik, who previously served as minister of environment and parks.
The winning margins slightly increased after the recount, but both were won by only a few dozen votes.

The candidates of those ridings, or any riding, now have until June 16 to apply to the courts for a judicial recount, if they so choose.
The UCP says it is reviewing the results with the affected candidates to decide whether that move is warranted.
Almost 1.8 million Albertans voted on May 29, for a final turnout of 59.5 per cent.
All election day, mobile voting, and special ballot votes were recounted for the two ridings in the presence of candidates and scrutineers, according to Elections Alberta.
