Several people in life-threatening condition after head-on crash west of Banff

Mounties in Banff say several people are in life-threatening condition following a head-on crash west of Banff Thursday.
Alberta RCMP and Columbia Valley RCMP in B.C. say the crash involved two vehicles.
As a result, police ask drivers not to exit off Highway 1 onto Highway 93 north of Radium Hot Springs in B.C. until the scene is clear.
However, they have also indicated that Highway 93 is open for alternating traffic.
Alberta 511 also notes one lane is open at the intersection.
Officers have not indicated how many people are hurt, or the exact nature of their injuries.
Mounties from Columbia Valley say crews were dispatched to the scene in Kootenay National Park at around 2:30 p.m.
In addition, STARS ambulance tweeted it was on the way to Invermere at around 3:30 p.m.
