A man is badly hurt after Calgary police say he suddenly exited a moving vehicle while intoxicated Monday morning in the city’s northeast.
They say a half-ton pick-up truck occupied by an 18-year-old male driver and a 19-year-old man was travelling west on McKnight Boulevard near 84 Street at around 3 a.m.
Police say after the truck passed 84 Street, the 19-year-old passenger suddenly jumped out while the truck was moving.
The driver stopped and went back to help the passenger, who then provided aid with other witnesses at the scene, according to police.
The passenger was rushed to hospital in serious condition.
Investigators say the driver and passenger were both drinking at the time of the incident.
