Aldo Nova eager to re-connect with fans ahead of Alberta stop

By Todd Kaufman

Canadian rocker Aldo Nova sat down with CityNews’s Todd Kaufman ahead of a concert in Edmonton to talk about his fans, being on tour, and his much-anticipated new album.

Nova burst onto the music scene with his 1982 self-titled debut, which spawned the huge radio-friendly hit “Fantasy” along with the single “Foolin’ Yourself.”

Subsequent albums saw moderate success, but Nova also found himself delving into the world of producing and collaborating with artists like Jon Bon Jovi, Celine Dion, Elton John, Faith Hill, and Carole King.

He won a Grammy Award in 1996 as a producer for Celine Dion’s “Falling into You,” which took home Album of the Year.

In 2008 Nova embarked on a 14-year journey to create his rock opera “The Life and Times of Eddie Gage,” which was finally finished in March last year.
