Calgarians may encounter some rather unusual vehicles on the road in the coming days.
The Canadian Armed Forces says members of the 41 Canadian Brigade Group (41 CBG) will be doing driver training using military vehicles on roads in the city’s southwest.
Training is scheduled to take place on Thursday July 13, from 12 to 4 p.m., Friday July 14, from 10 a.m. to 1:00am Saturday, July 15, and on Saturday July 15, from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Canada’s National Defence department says training will happen in the area of Currie Barracks and Crowchild Trail SW.
Noise and disruption to local vehicle and pedestrian traffic will be minimal, it adds.
According to the department, driver training is an “essential component” of the Reserve soldiers’ professional development in their military occupation.
All drivers in training will be under the supervision of an instruction.
