Calgary will soon see smoke relief

Change might soon be in the air for Calgary weather, after persistent wildfire smoke has left the city under a Special Air Quality statement for several days.
Meteorologist Michael Kuss says there could be some reprieve this week.
In the short term, the air quality is going to improve, not today, and potentially tomorrow we’ll still have some smoke around, but winds become southerly, high pressure builds in,” he explained.

“We’re going to see a better air quality flow heading into the end of the week but it gets hot and it’s still incredibly dry across the west, so that means not only the fires will continue to burn across the province and back into B.C., but more may start up over that stretch.”
Calgary’s air quality currently sits at a six — considered to be ‘moderate risk.’
