A man in his 50s was taken to hospital in serious condition after crashing his motorcycle into an SUV in southeast Calgary Wednesday, police say.
Officers say they were called to 17 Avenue at Deerfoot Trail just before 1 p.m. for the collision.
They believe the SUV merged in front of the bike and braked suddenly, which led the motorcyclist to hit the vehicle.
Police say he was taken to hospital, while the driver of the SUV wasn’t hurt.
The crash closed 17 Avenue in both directions for around three hours, leading to major traffic delays.
