Six Calgary businesses affected in SW strip mall fire

Calgary fire is on scene at a blaze at a strip mall Thursday morning.
Battalion Chief Brad Thompson says crews were called around 2:35 a.m. after a passerby noticed flames and smoke coming from the roof of a building on Sirocco Drive SW.
When they arrived, responders found a strip mall involved in a blaze.
As a result, Thompson says six businesses in the area will be affected.

He adds that 18 apparatus’ were still on the scene hours later and will likely remain throughout the morning.
