Tsuut’ina Nation police are investigating an ‘undetermined death’ after a man died earlier this week.
On Monday, Aug. 7, around 9 a.m., Alberta Health Services and Tsuut’ina Nation Police Service responded to a home on North Sarcee Road on the Tsuut’ina Nation, after calls were made reporting a man in his 60s was in medical distress.
Alberta Health Services took the man to the Foothills Medical Centre, where he was pronounced dead on Tuesday.
Nation police have launched an investigation into the man’s death to determine what happened leading up to the call for emergency services, given the undetermined nature of the death, the police service said Wednesday.
The RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit and members of Calgary police are helping with the investigation, they add.
An autopsy is set for Friday. Authorities say more details may be released following the results of the autopsy.
Anyone with information about the circumstances at the home before the arrival of emergency personnel is asked to contact the Tsuut’ina Nation Police Service at 403-271-3777 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
