Another pedestrian has been hit by a CTrain, this time in downtown Calgary Monday afternoon.
This marks the third such incident in less than a week.
Police say they received reports at around 3:10 p.m. that a pedestrian had been hit by a CTrain near the Centre Street Station at 7 Avenue and 1 Street SE.
According to investigators, the person was take to hospital in serious but stable condition.
Calgary Transit had said via social media that trains wouldn’t be servicing the downtown core.
It added that trains were travelling as far as West-Kerby Station, Sunnyside Station, Stampede Station and Bridgeland Station.
Riders were asked to catch shuttle buses on 6 Avenue and 9 Avenue.
Less than an hour later, train service resumed.
However, the Redline and Blueline were still running behind schedule, according to Calgary Transit.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information, videos, or photos, to contact the CPS at 403-266-1234 or anonymously via CrimeStoppers.
This is the third incident involving a pedestrian and a CTrain in five days. Two people were also hit by CTrains earlier this month in seperate incidents.
On Aug. 9, a woman stepped in front of a train at Centre Street and 7 Avenue SE leading her to fall and become wedged underneath the vehicle. She was taken to hospital where she died.
Two days later, on Aug. 11, Calgary police said a man lost his balance and fell into the path of an oncoming train at Franklin Station. Investigators say impairment on the part of that pedestrian is being investigated as a factor in the incident.
