RCMP rescind shelter in place, still searching for armed Alberta man

Rocky Mountain House RCMP have rescinded the shelter in place order for O’Chiese First Nation Tuesday.

RCMP say a Police Initiated Public Alert was issued for an armed man who has fired shots at police.

Although the alert has ended, police say that the suspect is still at large.

However RCMP believe the immediate danger to the public is gone.

They say the suspect is 24-year-old Shaeden Muskeg.

He has a medium complexion, is 5’9″ tall, 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, according to RCMP.

Police say Muskeg has arrest warrants out for a Sept. 13, 2023 incident on Sunchild First Nation where he was charged with discharge a firearm with intent, robbery with a firearm, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm contrary to order.

Anyone with information on the location of Muskeg is asked to contact the Rocky Mountain House RCMP at 403-845-2881 or 911.
