2 arrested, weapons and drugs seized in drunk driving incident: Grande Prairie RCMP

A drunk driving incident led to a significant number of drugs being seized, and a man and a woman being arrested, Grande Prairie RCMP say.

Officers say at around 1 p.m. on Sunday, they responded to reports of a possible impaired driver. That led them to the area of 112 Street and 100 Avenue, where they found the suspect vehicle in a parking lot.

While searching the vehicle, Mounties seized 328 grams of cocaine, 240 grams of crystal meth, 378 grams of fentanyl, an airsoft rifle, a knife, four iPhones, ammunition, “various drug trafficking-related paraphernalia,” and $5,745.

Officers arrested 36-year-old Brock Gooler and 33-year-old Cassandra Ouellette — both from Grande Prairie — and they now face three charges of possession for the purposes of trafficking.

Gooler was taken into custody and will appear in court on Oct. 4, while Ouelette was released from custody and will appear in court on Oct. 23.

Mounties say the arrest happened thanks to the public reporting the suspected impaired drivers and suspicious vehicles to the police.
