Missing woman from Hawkwood NW found dead: Calgary police

A woman who has been missing from Hawkwood in the city’s northwest for 10 days has been found dead, Calgary police say.

Officers say 25-year-old Amy Fahlman had been missing since Sept. 29, after she left her home at Hawkwood Place and Hawkwood Circle.

Her vehicle was found a few days after her disappearance in the area of Cochrane on Highway 1A to northbound Highway 40, past Waiparous Village.

Police say her death was non-criminal.

Family, friends, and strangers took part in search parties for days, with volunteer Search and Rescue (SAR) teams from Cochrane, Mountainview, Sundre, Foothills, and Calgary also taking part.

A GoFundMe has raised nearly $50,000 as of Tuesday evening, with portions of the funds raised will be donated back to the SAR teams, according to the page.

Police say no further information will be released.
