Investigators say around 2:20 p.m. Tuesday, police were called to the Calgary Jewish Community Centre on 90 Avenue SW for multiple reports of a man making anti-Semitic comments and causing a disturbance.

The man was throwing eggs at vehicle, the Holocaust Memorial Monument, and the building, while shouting anti-Semitic profanities at people outside of the centre, according to police.

In a statement police say there is “no place for hate in our city” and continue to say that “hate-motivated crimes are recognizable crimes, like assault, theft, vandalism or any other crime, where the offender was motivated by bias, prejudice or hate that is based on one of nine personal characteristics of the victim.”
