Pedestrian seriously injured after being hit by car downtown: Calgary police

Calgary police are investigating after a man was hit by a car downtown Sunday and left with serious injuries.

Investigators say just after 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 12, officers were called to 5 Avenue and 3 Street SE for reports of an incident involving a pedestrian.

Police say a man was crossing 5 Avenue SE when he came into the path of a Honda Accord being driven by a 44-year-old man.

The pedestrian was left with serious, life-threatening injuries after being hit by the car, according to police.

He was taken to hospital.

The driver of the car wasn’t hurt and stayed at the scene.

Investigators say speed, alcohol, or drugs aren’t considered to be factors in the incident.
