Alberta’s RCMP Major Crimes Unit probes homicide at Sunchild First Nation

A man died after being shot at a gas station northwest of Rocky Mountain House.

RCMP were called to the Sunchild First Nation gas station after receiving reports of gunshots being fired.

When they arrived on the scene, they located the man who later died from his injuries. Police believe the victim and a suspect got into a verbal altercation, that resulted in the suspect shooting the victim.

RCMP are releasing a photo of the suspect vehicle in hopes that members of the public can assist in identifying any potential suspects and locate the vehicle. The vehicle is described as a Black Jeep Grande Cherokee.

Alberta’s Major Crimes Unit has now taken over the investigation.
