Identity of Marlborough LRT stabbing suspect sought: Calgary police

Calgary police are looking to identify the suspect in the stabbing of a man at the Marlborough LRT Station in November.

Officers say the victim was working on his laptop at around 3 p.m. on Nov. 27, when the suspect approached him showing interest in the device.

They say this led the victim to move away and walk onto the Plus 15 Skywalk, but the suspect followed, leading the victim to make his way back to the station.

However, officers say the suspect blocked the victim’s path, prompting a fight to break out between them. Amid the struggle, police say the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the thigh, then left the station on a train going northbound.

The victim called 9-1-1 and was taken to hospital in stable condition.

Investigators describe the suspect as a man with medium-to-long black hair, around 6′ tall, and was last seen wearing a white hoodie, dark jacket, and dark pants. At the time, they say he wore red and white shoes and a red number-91 Calgary Flames jersey.

Police ask anyone with information about this incident or the identity of the man to call them at 403-266-1234 or leave a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
