Calgary police investigate fatal southeast shooting

Calgary police are investigating a shooting in the southeast that left one person dead and another in life-threatening condition Monday.

Investigators say just before 10 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 18, officers were called to 35 Street SE near International Avenue for reports of a shooting.

When they arrived, police found a man near a truck who was declared dead on scene.

A seriously injured woman was found nearby, they add.

Police said Wednesday the shooting was a targeted incident and the man who died and the suspect were known to each other.

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit continues to investigate and is asking anyone with information, photos or videos to come forward and speak with police.

An autopsy of the man is set for Wednesday.
