Two people suffered minor injuries in an altercation over the weekend at the Dashmesh Culture Centre in Calgary’s northeast, according to police.

Investigators say on Sunday, Jan. 7, three separate calls were made to police about a disturbance at 135 Gurdwara Sahib Boulevard NE.

The first call, around 1:15 p.m., led officers to be dispatched to a protest outside the building.

Shortly after, a second call to police indicated the protestors had moved inside the building.

Calgary police say officers worked with both parties to de-escalate the situation.

Around 7:45 p.m., investigators say a third call came in reporting a conflict involving 50 to 100 people at the same location.

Police say the situation was once again de-escalated and that no weapons were involved in the incident that left two with minor injuries.

No one is currently in custody, and investigators are looking into whether anything criminal happened.
