Four charged in murder of Calgary woman last spring

Four people have been charged in the murder of a Calgary woman, whose body was found near Okotoks last spring.
On March, 30, 2023, the body of 37-year-old Tara Miller was found near Highway 522 and 128 Street in Foothills County, police say.
Last Thursday, RCMP and Calgary police arrested four people in connection with her death.
Gurpreet Gill, a resident of Calgary, has been charged with first-degree murder, aggravated assault, and using a firearm in an indictable offence, according to police.
The 30-year-old was taken into custody following a hearing and was set to appear in Calgary court on Monday.

Thirty-year-old Greg Schuster, also of Calgary, is charged with manslaughter, aggravated assault, and accessory after the fact.
He is currently in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 1.
A third person, 24-year-old Jared Burke of Wheatland Country, has been charged with manslaughter, aggravated assault, and using a firearm in an indictable offence.
He will appear in court on Thursday.
Shyana Popplestone of Calgary has also been charged with manslaughter.
She is in custody and set to appear in court on Friday.
