Pedestrian hurt in drive-by shooting in Millrise

A 27-year-old pedestrian was hit by gunfire in a drive-by shooting in southeast Calgary Friday, police say.

The man was walking down the back alley near Bannister Road in the community of Millrise when officers say he was shot in the leg around 9:30 p.m.

Multiple reports of gunfire were made at around 9 p.m., and the victim was quickly located and taken to hospital.

As of Friday night, police haven’t arrested or identified any people of interest.

On Saturday police confirmed to CityNews they have not ruled out the victim was not the intended target.
