Man rushed to hospital after northeast shooting

A man in his 20s is in stable condition following an early morning shooting in the city’s northeast.

Police were called out around 6:45 a.m. to the 6500 block of Huntridge Hill.

According to police, a man was found with gunshot wounds and taken to hospital in life-threatening condition but has since been upgraded.

Police believe the shooting occurred at the same location where the man was found and say evidence shows a nearby home had been struck, which is believed to be associated with the victim.

No other injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made.

Police are calling it a targeted incident and say the victim and suspect or suspects are known to one another.
