Calgary light snowfall continues, but expected to taper off Sunday

Calgarians continue to be hit with light snow on Saturday, but there is some light at the end of the tunnel as it tapers off Sunday.

The snow has been falling since Wednesday, and around five to 10 centimetres are expected to fall throughout the day.

Commuters can expect to see most major routes being cleared, but it’ll take longer for the residential streets and sidewalks to get plowed.

For those travelling today, be prepared for quickly changing and deteriorating conditions.

In addition, heavy snow is expected to hit areas just west of the city, especially in Kananaskis.

The mountain area could see between 15 to 30 cm fall in that area over the weekend and finish up sometime Sunday.

If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
