What’s open and closed in Calgary over the Easter long weekend

If you're planning on celebrating easter long weekend around the city, there are some things to keep in mind.

The Easter long weekend is upon us.

In Alberta, Friday Mar. 29 is a statutory holiday and Easter Monday (Apr. 1) means a day off for federally regulated workplaces.

ATTRACTIONS

BANKS

Banks will be closed on Friday and will operate on regular hours on Monday

CALGARY PUBLIC LIBRARY

Calgary Public Library locations will be closed on Friday and will operate on regular hours for the rest of the weekend

CANADA POST

Canada Post locations will not be open on Friday and Monday, no mail will be delivered on those days

GROCERY AND LIQUOR

Most grocery stores and liquor stores will be open through the weekend, some may have reduced hours. Check your local store for more details.

Costco locations will be closed on Sunday and will not be doing deliveries on Friday and Sunday.

LEISURE/RECREATION CENTRES

The pools at Southland Leisure Centre and Village Square Leisure Centre will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Sunday.

All other Calgary arenas, indoor pools and fitness centres will be closed on Friday and Sunday, but will operate at regular hours Saturday and Monday.

SHOPPING MALLS

Calgary Transit buses and CTrains will operate on a Sunday schedule on Friday. More details can be found here.

CTrain service on the Blue Line will be shut down between 69 Street Station and Westbrook Station from Friday to Sunday for maintenance.
