Two men are facing charges and more than $70,000 in drugs have been seized after a search at a home in Calgary’s southeast last month.

Calgary police say they started investigating two men believed to be involved in drug trafficking in February after getting tips from multiple residents.

On Mar. 20, officers executed a search warrant at a home on 39 Street SE, north of 17 Avenue SE. The following items were found during the search:

Two men from Calgary are facing nearly 20 charges. Jibril Mohamed, 33, is facing 13 charges including seven counts of trafficking, and Christopher Atkins is facing six charges including five counts of trafficking.

The two men are expected to appear in court later this month.

“These investigations highlight the importance of proactive policing and investigative work to keep dangerous drugs and weapons off our streets and to hold traffickers responsible for their actions,” says District 1 General Investigations Unit Staff Sgt. Brad Moore in a statement.
