Four people have been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of a man at an Alberta motel four years ago.
RCMP say officers were called to the Bluebird Motel in Innisfail in the early morning hours of Apr. 29, 2020, for reports of someone in medical distress.
A 38-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene and the death was deemed suspicious. The victim was identified as Blackfalds resident Ryan James Gudwer.
In an update on Friday, RCMP say four people have been charged following a “plethora of investigative steps including forensics, surveillance, obtaining judicial authorizations and speaking to witnesses.”
“As all four suspects had moved significant distances since the murder, the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit began project K-Nova designed to locate and safely arrest each suspect,” reads a police release.
