Thousands in dinosaur costumes gather in Drumheller to break world record

Thousands wearing inflatable dinosaur costumes flocked to Drumheller Saturday hoping to break a world record.
Travel Drumheller’s Jurassic Jamboree event aims to break the “Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Dinosaurs” record of 252 people, which was set in Los Angeles in 2019.
Social media posts highlight the many people in costume all over the downtown area, as events ranged from activities to games, and enjoying live music.
The only rules were the costumes must be full-body dinosaur costumes with a headpiece and body of a dinosaur, and not to wear ride-on style dinosaur costumes.
Last year, 1,100 inflatable dinosaurs gathered in the small Saskatchewan community of Dundurn, but Guinness World Records hasn’t recognized it as of yet.
The full attendance number won’t be known for a few days, but Travel Drumheller has said they handed out around 3,000 bracelets to people from across the country, and the states.
The count by Guinness World Records took place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
When verified, a record holder certificate will be issued.
