Calgary police look to identify pair connected to recovered vehicle with guns, ammo

Calgary police are appealing to the public to identify two men believed to have information in connection to a recovered vehicle that was found in the northeast community of Mayland Heights last year.

Investigators say on Saturday, Dec. 23 around 11 p.m., officers saw a 2013 silver Volkswagen Passat with a stolen license plate driving along 19 Street NE.

Officers tried to pull the vehicle over, but it fled.

A short time later, police say the vehicle was found abandoned on McKinnon Drive NE and officers found firearms and ammunition inside.

Police are hoping to get the names of two men they think have information about the vehicle that was recovered.

The first man is around 25 to 30 years old, 170 to 180 pounds, with short dark hair, a moustache and a small amount of facial hair. He was last seen wearing a black puffer jacket, a black hoofies, and a black shirt.

The second man is also 25 to 30 years and 170 to 180 pounds, with a beard. He was last seen wearing a black baseball hal, a black puffer jacket, a black sweater, and a white shirt.

Police also say the pair are connected to an SUV thought to be a 2007 to 2014 Cadillac Escalade.
