Staff Sgt. John Guigon told CityNews that officers were on scene early Tuesday morning, explaining that that was in response to a domestic violence call.
While the victim was deemed safe, police say they were unable to get the suspect to leave the house.
Just before 10 a.m., Calgary police advised CityNews that the issue had been resolved and one man was taken into custody.
Guigon previously said that no guns were involved in the incident, and there was no risk to the public.
Residents of the area saw a significant police presence in the area for some time.
