Vehicle drives into NW Calgary school

An elementary school in Calgary’s northwest was the scene of a hit and run early Friday morning.
Police were called at 2 a.m. for reports of a single-vehicle crash at Belvedere Parkway School at 4631 85 Street NW.
They say the man behind the wheel left the scene after the crash but was tracked down by police a short distance away.
He was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Alcohol and speed are considered to be factors in the incident.
Witnesses tell CityNews the car went through the fence, into the brick exterior of the school, and then caught fire.
