Two injured after vehicle falls on them: Calgary police

A small truck fell on top of two people Friday, injuring them and sending one to hospital in critical condition, Calgary police say.

Police say they were called to the 4400 block of Marlborough Drive NE at around 7:20 p.m. on reports of a traffic incident involving a pair of pedestrians.

However, upon arrival, Staff Sgt John Guigon says evidence was found that the two were working on a vehicle that had either moved or fallen on them, trapping them under it.

“One unfortunately is in critical condition the other is better off in non-critical condition and our traffic section is working on this investigation currently,” he told CityNews.

Police now tell CityNews one man found trapped under the truck was rescued by fire crews. He was rushed to hospital in critical condition but has since been upgraded non-life threatening condition.

The alley has been blocked as police investigate, but say it’s not impeding traffic.
