Airdrie RCMP investigate arson of home under construction

Police and firefighters in Airdrie are investigating a house fire that happened Thursday evening which they suspect was intentionally set.

Airdrie RCMP and Airdrie Fire say crews were called to the city’s Midtown neighbourhood just after 8 p.m. for reports of a house fire.

The house was under construction and no one was living there.

Investigators say no civilians were hurt, but a firefighter reported a minor, non-fire related injury.

The blaze was contained to the one home.

Police are now on the hunt for two people thought to be involved in the arson.

Suspect one is described as a young, fair-skinned man with short brown hair, wearing black shorts, white socks, sandals, and a long sleeve green sweater.

The second suspect is also thought to be a young, fair-skinned man with dark coloured hair, wearing a black hoodie, red pants, and a dark coloured back pack.
