Highway 36 north of Taber reopens after serious crash: RCMP

By CityNews Staff

RCMP say a serious crash that required emergency crews happened on Highway 36 north of Taber Sunday afternoon.

Police said they shut down Highway 36 between Township Road 142 and Township Road 144 near Vauxhall at around 4 p.m., a couple of hours away from Calgary.

Mounties were on the scene for the investigation for some time, reporting the highway was impassable in both directions.

However, 511 Alberta said the roads were opened up at around 1:15 a.m. Monday.

There’s no word yet on how many vehicles were involved or any details on the extent of injuries.

RCMP say they will provide an update.
