Calgary Fire Department (CFD) crews are responding to a gas leak in the city’s northwest Monday afternoon.

Fire Information Officer Carol Henke tells CityNews a homeowner struck a gas line.

Several homes had to be evacuated and gas had to be shut off at neighbouring homes in the area of Bermuda Road NW and Bermuda Close NW, just south of Beddington Heights School.

ATCO are also on scene helping emergency crews, who were called to the scene around 10:30 a.m.
