A road in downtown Calgary was closed for several hours Monday morning after a backhoe got stuck under a bridge.

Calgary police tell CityNews the piece of equipment was being transported on the back of a truck at 1 Street and 9 Avenue SW when it hit the rail bridge.

First Street SW, underneath the bridge, was closed northbound for several hours while crews worked to clear the scene.

No injuries have been reported.
