1 dead after being run over on Highway 2 in Ponoka, driver in custody for impaired driving

Alberta RCMP says one person is dead after being run over on Highway 2 in Ponoka.
Mounties say they received a report around 1:45 a.m. Sunday, that indicated there was a serious collision on Highway 2 and 57 Avenue.
When emergency crews arrived at the seen, they found a person who had been lying near the southbound lane had been hit by a sedan that was driving in the northbound lane.
Police say it is believed that the vehicle that was driving north had overcorrected and hit the individual who was lying in the street.
The driver of the sedan was taken into custody for impaired driving.
