Semi-truck gets stuck under downtown Calgary bridge for hours

A semi-truck got stuck under a downtown Calgary bridge on Wednesday, causing traffic delays for several hours.

A semi-truck got stuck under a downtown Calgary bridge on Wednesday, causing traffic delays for several hours.

The truck became wedged under the rail bridge on northbound MacLeod Trail between 10 and 9 Avenue SE before 11 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The truck was still under the bridge as of 5 p.m. as crews worked to try to remove it.


The two left lanes of northbound MacLeod were blocked throughout the afternoon.

Last week, another downtown street was closed for several hours after a backhoe got stuck under the rail bridge.
