One person dead after motorcycle, truck collide in SE Calgary

One person is dead after a crash involving a motorcycle in southeast Calgary on Wednesday.

Emergency crews were called to the area of 36 Street and 50 Avenue SE around 5:30 p.m. Police tell CityNews there was a two-vehicle crash between a motorcycle and a truck.

One person was rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition. Police later confirmed they succumbed to their injuries.

No other injuries have been reported.

There is no word on the cause of the crash.

Roads in the area were closed for several hours and reopened just after 11 p.m.
