Closures in Calgary over the August Long Weekend

By CityNews Staff

The City of Calgary says some of its services will be disrupted over the August Long Weekend.

Calgary Transit

On Friday, the northbound track at Victoria Park/Stampede Station will be closed starting at 8 p.m. until the end of service. The city says trains heading in both directions will only be using the southbound platform.

From Saturday, Aug. 3 until the early hours of Tuesday, Aug. 6, the RedLine will be completely closed between City Hall/Bow Valley College and 39 Avenue stations for scheduled work.

Calgary Transit says shuttle buses will replace service between these stations and a separate shuttle will run between Chinook and Banff Trail stations on Sunday, Aug. 4 for the Stampeders game.

Buses, CTrains, and On Demand will be running on a Sunday level of service on Monday, Aug. 5.

CTrains will be back to a regular schedule by the start of service on Tuesday, Aug. 6.

Parking

Parking in on-street ParkPlus zones on Monday, Aug. 5 will be free.

Weekend rates will apply at all Calgary Parking parkades and surface lots.

Calgary Transit says regular rates will be in effect in the lots at TELUS Spark, University District, Calgary Zoo, and Heritage Park.

The Calgary Park contact centre and impound lot will be closed on holiday Monday.
